Terms of Use
Last updated October 3, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Wayfauna app, made by Dillon Frolek. By using Wayfauna you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Play safely
- Stay aware of your surroundings. Don't play while driving or cycling.
- Stay on public land and paths. Never enter private property, closed areas or anywhere unsafe to reach a species or a field station.
- Respect wildlife. Keep your distance, don't feed, chase or disturb animals, and leave plants and fungi where they grow.
- Follow local rules in parks and reserves.
Field stations are drawn from public map data and player suggestions. We work to keep them on public, safe ground, but places change. If a station is on private property or unsafe, report it from its card in the app.
Places you suggest
- Only suggest public places that are safe to visit. No homes, private gardens, schools or anywhere people live.
- Names must be accurate and appropriate. No personal information, advertising or offensive content.
- Every suggestion is reviewed before anyone else sees it, and we may decline, edit or remove any place. Accounts that misuse suggestions or reports can lose the ability to use them.
- By suggesting a place, you let us show it in Wayfauna, including after you delete your account. It's never shown with your name.
Your account
You're responsible for activity on your account. Don't cheat — for example by faking your location or step count, or by tampering with the app — or try to disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that do. You can delete your account at any time; see deleting your account.
The game
Species, chrysalises, records and other in-game items have no monetary value and can't be sold or exchanged. We may change, rebalance or retire game features. Species information is for enjoyment, not identification you should rely on — never handle or eat anything because of something you read in Wayfauna.
No warranty
Wayfauna is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties and aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use Wayfauna means you accept the updated terms.
